Let me quickly chronicle the last few days…
Monday: I worked in the Minneapolis office. I almost called in sick because I was feeling yucky, but I didn’t and I am so glad because two (yes two!) other girls in the office called in. I haven’t called in sick to work in about 10 years and I am glad I didn’t break my record. The day wasn’t too bad, I just worked a little slower than normal since my head felt like it was going to explode, but I still got a lot done.
Tuesday: Lisa was really sick and stayed home from school. I worked from home and got a huge looming project done so I felt good. I checked on Lisa through out the day and brought her small comfort foods like crackers and sprite and plenty of advil and cough medicine. She hasn’t been sick from school in 3 years so I was sad that she broke her record. I was feeling better and went to the grocery store – good thing because the cupboards were looking a little bare.
Wednesday: Ryans Birthday! My nephew Ryan turned 17 yesterday! 17! I can hardly believe it. He is a wonderful young man – smart, funny, kind, handsome – he’s amazing and I love him to death even though I hardly see him now that he has a girlfriend and a driver’s license. I bought him a Guitar Hero handheld game and gave him a little cash. We all gathered at my mom and dads for Famous Daves and homemade German Chocolate Cake (thanks mom!) It was fun to spend time with the family and I know I am going to miss those big traditional gatherings as all the kids are getting bigger and moving on to their own lives. Brianna is the youngest and she is already 11!
Thursday: Today I have to work and get this house clean so we don’t have to do it over the weekend (-: Rich called this morning and thanked me for making his lunch (I make it every day, but I guess today was special). He said I make him lunch like he’s a king and I told him, he is a king in my book (ahhhh!) Some days we can be so wonderful.
